Christmas Giveaway! (finally right!)

Ok I am so so sorry for not blogging sooner! Uni has been mad, my lovely dad celebrated his 50th birthday a few weeks ago and I've been up to my eyes in Christmas fairs!

Right so I have a Christmas giveaway for you all which I will send out first class on Monday, so all you need to do is drop me a Christmas message with your name and address (so there is no delay in posting) to my email address: shahlaa@hotmail.co.uk

I will draw 2 names out of the hat on sunday and one will get a Christmas tree bead and the other a Christmas pudding bead. Apologies for the awful photos, my digital camera is broken and i'm hopefully getting a new one for Christmas.

Lotsa love & a very merry Christmas to you all!

It's been a busy month!

My word hasn't time flown! I haven't been on here for almost a month!!! So what have I been doing? Well on 4th Nov I had a rather successful jewellery party where I nearly sold out of jewellery stock and beads! Was totally crazy!! Then on Saturday I had a stall at a lovely primary school Christmas fair. Again it was very busy!!

Well let me show you a couple of things I've been working on jewellery wise, and also I'll flash you a few of my latest beads for you to ogle ;-)

Polka Dot Madness

Playing with Silver Glass...

This is a lentil set made with Pink lady glass and DH Aurae encased, I call it Carousel

This is some DH Ekho I've been playing with...

Some Shimmer..

These lovely earrings were made with amazing earwires from La Valederie (I would check her out!)

And finally Just some focals to tease!

Hope you like! I know I promised a giveaway last month but I will get one up asap by the end of this week!

Been so busy!

Well last week was pretty horrid, my poor dad was taken into hospital and had to stay in all week. He's been battling cancer for 4 years now but got an infection which really knocked him back a bit. Was pretty difficult but he's home now and I'm pleased :-)

Got some time at the torch last week, got some yummy shimmer lentils and some new polkadot encased beads to share with you once they are photographed.

I've been working hard preparing some jewellery for upcoming jewellery parties and Christmas fairs so I thought I'd share one or two bits with you...

Enjoy! Will be adding details about another competition in the next week or so, so keep an eye out!

A week of up and downs

So my week started off well and my new purple dell laptop arrived in all it's shining glory. In fact I'm writing you from it now :) Then on Weds my family had some disappointing news that my dad who is fighting cancer wasn't responding to his current regime of chemo anymore. That was a bit of a blow, but they are going to change the regime and he might have to have another operation.

So it's been a hard week and I've not had too much time to make beads but here are a few for you to drool over!

Pastel Icicle Set (made with sugar frit) available on Etsy

Polka dot sets - white and periwinkle  available on Etsy

Also managed to work some magic with Raku this week. Raku is a reactive frit, if heated up enough you can tease gorgeous colours out of them. If not you can end up with brown poop! Unfortunately even though the beads look to die for, the holes weren't amazing so they are very slight seconds-i haven't put them on etsy for this reason but if you want them just email me or leave a comment.

Competition winner announced!!

Well my hubby drew a lucky lady out of the hat tonight and Sally Graddon wins my set of beads!!

Congratulations Sally!! Send me an email to shahlaa@hotmail.co.uk and I'll get it posted out to you :-)

Look out for more regular competitions. I will be doing another one in a couple weeks :-)

The new beads I promised

So I rediscovered my pixie dust mica powder and had a little play and came up with these sage shimmer marbles

I also have been playing with some simple styles and fine silver wire. I really love the clarity of the pale blue "laguna" set, as well as the wintery feel of the "Crimson & Ivory marbles".

So I hope you like these! I haven't put them on Etsy yet, as you guys get first shout. So if there is anything you're interested in send me an email to shahlaa@hotmail.co.uk   if not I'll post em on Etsy later this week.

Step right up!!! Competition time!

Right to celebrate me entering the blogging world, I am having a little competition.

I'm offering this lovely cobalt and aurae shard trio, I call it "Curled up on Cobalt"

So what do you have to do to win? Well all you need to do is follow my little blog. It is worth doing as I will be having regular competitions and be putting all my new beads on here first. I will even have some beads shown exclusively here for you to nab that I won't list on Etsy.

I will draw this next Monday (5th oct) evening and post it on here. Anyone who has followed my blog will be put into the proverbial hat and I will get my lovely hubby to draw the winner.

Have fun! xx

Beads made today!!

I managed to get a couple of hours at the torch today which was fun and frustrating!

I'm still getting to grips with my marble press and have been using it non stop-i do love a round bead and i'm of the mentality that beads are round lol! But in obsessing over this beautiful press so much I unfortunately have neglected my other presses, so i did make a couple of lentil focals today as well to even the balance. I got a really yummy lentil out of some lovely Reichenbach antique clear glass and then i wrapped it in some fine silver wire. It's simple but divine!

I also got my mica powders out today after a long time and made a lovely greeny set with antique clear and some CiM dirty martini dipped in a shimmery green. I'll get some piccies up asap, they are all cooking in the kiln as we speak! Let's hope the kiln fairies will be kind!

Will be posting later about a competition for all you bloggers. xxx

Hi and welcome to my new blog!

I'm Shahlaa and I make handmade lampwork beads from molten glass. What can I say, I like playing with fire!

To celebrate the launch of my new blog I will be running regular competitions, so subscribe and keep checking back. I'll try to update this as regularly as poss, although I'm not entirely sure what to write about.

I'll write another post on why I love to lampwork and I will figure out how to do an about me page, so once I work that out you can be as nosy as you like.

Let me leave you with a few pictures of some beads I've recently posted on my Etsy
